Terms and Conditions
Please ensure you read and understand what is explained below.
Upon acceptance into the Intern NZ / Intern OZ Programme you hereby agree to the Terms and Conditions below. These Terms and Conditions apply to both On-Site and Virtual internship programmes.
All internships are Unpaid
1. Application Policy
1.1 All applicants must be 18 years and older and have a valid visa that will allow them to undertake an internship, which is a form of work. It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that they have the correct visa.
1.2 The applicant is responsible for ensuring accurate, correct and complete information in their application.
1.3 Upon application, the candidate agrees that their details will be shared with other third parties as part of the Intern NZ / Intern OZ service.
1.4 You must inform us of and provide any University or educational requirements at the time of application and PRIOR to the commencement of the internship search.
1.5 Intern NZ / Intern OZ reserves the right to decline applicants who we deem to be an unsuitable fit for the programme.
1.6 Upon acceptance into the Internship Programme the applicant agrees to pay the full Internship Programme Fee as per the Payment Policy below.
1.7 Intern NZ / Intern OZ cannot guarantee a placement for every applicant. Should we be unable to secure a placement a partial refund of the application fee may be refunded according to our refund policy.
1.8 All applicants must have had both vaccinations for COVID-19, The reason for this is that upon application it is not known which host site will offer a placement and their particular policy regarding vaccinations. More and more sites are requesting applicants are double jabbed and it is for this reason it has been made a requirement for the programme.
2. Payment Policy
2.1 The Internship Programme Fee is paid in two parts. An initial $400NZD Deposit, which includes a $100NZD non refundable Administration fee, is payable at the time of application upon acceptance into the Internship Programme.
2.2 Internship only programmes i.e. no additional services such as accommodation; Upon confirmation and acceptance of an Internship (i.e. upon receipt of the Memorandum of Understanding) the remaining balance of the Internship Programme Fee is due upon receipt of the invoice, i.e. within 24 hours, and must be paid in full PRIOR to the commencement of the Internship. If payment is not received accordingly i.e. PRIOR to the Internship commencement date or within 24 hours (whichever is earlier), then the Internship commencement date will be deferred until payment is made in full. The host site will be notified of this delayed start date.
2.3 Silver and Gold Packages (Internship and Accommodation): Upon confirmation and acceptance of an Internship (i.e. upon receipt of the Memorandum of Understanding), the remaining balance of the Internship and Accommodation Package Fee is due and payable within 5 days of the invoice date and must be paid in full PRIOR to the commencement of the Internship. If payment is not received within the 5 days or PRIOR to the Internship commencement date (whichever is earlier), then the Internship commencement date will be deferred until payment is made in full. The host site will be notified of this delayed start date.
2.4 All costs incurred in the recovery of overdue funds, including debt recovery charges will be added to the balance of your account.
2.5 The applicant is responsible for all applicable bank fees and charges in relation to their application.
2.6 If the internship interview results in a paid job offer and not an unpaid internship, the final programme fee is due. This is considered to be a better result for candidates than an unpaid internship. However, if the candidate prefers, an unpaid internship will be arranged. If the candidate accepts the paid role, final programme fees are due.
3. Refund Policy
You will be eligible to receive a full refund of your initial Deposit less the non-refundable Administration Fee of $100 under the following circumstances:
3.1 If an internship interview has not been presented that was in line with your requirements within 12 weeks* from the date of application. After 12 weeks* we still require you to inform us if you wish to stop the search and request to withdraw from the Internship Programme prior to an internship interview being presented.
You will NOT be eligible to receive a refund of your initial Deposit:
3.2 If you advise Intern NZ / Intern OZ that you wish to withdraw from the Internship Search Programme within the first 12 weeks* from the date of application. Office closure dates at Christmas do not count towards this total. This is from Christmas Eve to the second Monday in January the following year.
3.3 If Intern NZ / Intern OZ cancels you from the Internship Programme at any time during the search process according to the Cancellation Policy below.
* The 12 weeks excludes any time that the search process is placed on hold. Examples of when your file is placed on may hold include: Intern NZ asking you to improve you CV or cover letter. Intern NZ Christmas Office Closure. Mutual agreement to place the file on hold.

4.3 If you fail to provide and disclose pertinent information that influences the search process at the time of application such as course/academic requirements, professional certification requirements, location preferences or deadline dates etc. We may at our discretion continue the search.

4.16 If there has been insufficient communication from the applicant which may have an adverse effect on the search process. A response within 48 hours is expected. A duration of 5 days or longer is deemed too long and unacceptable as this has a detrimental effect on the search process. We will continue the search at our discretion.
