INTERNSHIPS IN SYDNEY
Sydney is the State Capital of New South Wales in Australia, and is the highest populated city in Oceania. Considering the city is ranked 11th in the world for Economic Opportunity, and accounts for a quarter of the whole of Australia’s economic activity, it goes without saying that Sydney is a fantastic city to gain work experience in! Over 250 languages are spoken in Sydney, making it one of the most multi-cultural cities there are. This could be the reason why Sydney is within the top 15 visited cities in the world, or it could be due to its wonderful attractions, such as the botanic gardens. But if flowers and beautiful landscapes aren’t your thing, and music is more up your street, then have no fear! Sydney is home to the famous Sydney Opera House, accommodating more than 3000 events and eight million visitors every year.
It is hard to mention Sydney without referring to its (arguably) most popular attraction: the weather! With the city surrounding the world’s largest harbour, much of Sydney life is orientated around the beach. The inhabitants pride themselves on their stunning sun-drenched beaches and multitude of water sports.
Our internship in Sydney includes Support Services that will help you settle into your internship experience in Australia or New Zealand.

My name is Thomas Bertossi, and I come from Nancy, a little French city not far from the German border. I’m studying engineering at Telecom Bretagne, a graduate engineering school. I’m not specialised yet, but I would like to work later in the robotics field. I think that internships are a really good way to gain some working experience before becoming graduated. My University offered me the opportunity to spend one year for an internship between my fourth and fifth year of master. So I worked 7 months for Airbus in Germany, and now, Sydney! Here I am. I’ve always wanted to come and see Australia. It’s a wonderful country! The procedure with Intern OZ was really fast and effective! After only a few emails exchanged with Intern OZ, I secured my contract with the internship site and I was ready to fly to my internship in Australia. I’m working on a new kind of robots: modular robots. They are robots able to reshape themselves in case they need to adapt themselves to their environment. I’m in charge of the mechanical design of the connectors for these robots. In order to do that, I’m involved in both conception and design, and I build prototypes as well. It’s really interesting!I love Australia! Nice weather, nice beaches, Australian people are really friendly and really cool. Here, I can practice my beach volleyball after work! Moreover, Sydney is very dynamic! It’s a cosmopolitan place where you can find whatever you need.

Fortunately I found positive reviews online and ended up with a great internship. I'm in the office 3-4 days per week, from 9 or 10 until 5, not because I'm always swamped with work to do, but because I love my coworkers and am passionate about the tasks they give me. There is always something to see and do, the hardest part is just being able to afford it all! I wish I had known that the temperature does vary in Australia: contrary to popular belief, you will need some warm clothes! But on the whole the only thing I really wish I had known before arriving is how quickly I would fall in love with the whole country!

You do a good job! I am glad to have work experience in my summer internship, which was very impressive to me. I was able to learn a lot about food processing, safety, and quality management in orientated tasks. I also enjoyed working with my supervisor and colleagues.

I had a blast! The people I have met are amazing, and my internship was an experience I will cherish forever. Australia is a beautiful place filled with beautiful people! I will definitely be back in January to either work, or continue with David and his team! :)
